What I loved about November

1. Watching Jacob dress up like a puppy (I know, it was October). Jacob wore his cousin Sam's costume for Halloween. It was adorable. I let him attempt to go to one door, but he ended up knocking over their decorations before he got a chance to get candy.

{he destroyed the candle-lit jack-o-lantern decor to the right}
2. Going on our 4th year anniversary "date day." We kind of set the bar high and had gone on an overnight trip each year (last year, it was a trip to Dallas with a newborn. Not exactly fun per se). This year, we had our friends keep Jacob all day while we went and played. We went to the park, ate at fun restaurants, and shopped downtown without having to rush to dodge naptimes or bedtime. It was very quiet and relaxing, but we were ready to get back to our little Monkey earlier than we had planned. Pathetic, right?

3. Doing a women's bible study at church and reading this book. It was a game-changer for me. It challenged me to truly live out/believe/be affected by the Gospel on a day to day basis. (I could write an entire post just on that.) A must-read.

4. Fall Decor- it may be my most favorite thing, along with pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice latte, etc. I had a moment of silence when I had to put up the pumpkins, mums, and my favorite- the pumpkin-spice candle. Don't worry, I am all on board for poinsettias and candy canes now. It just always takes me a little while to adjust.
{aunt Ko's house- wish I could take credit for such cute porch!}
5. Thanksgiving!! We had a big time this year- we were ALL together. We had to do "Merry Thanksgiving" because we won't be together at Christmas. It was so fun to see all the cousins together. While chasing around the big kids all weekend, it was the first time Jacob didn't quite seem like a baby anymore (sad face). But we have so enjoyed watching his social personality come out lately- always wants to be in the middle of the action!
Wonder where he got that from?
{ The Whole Gang!...except baby Claire}
{Coco, Maggie and Jacob at the "kids table"- lasted about 2 minutes}
{he is obsessed with vacuums or anything that looks like a vacuum.
 Thanks, Grammie for letting me help!}
6. Being able to use the fireplace and wear house shoes a couple of times. But low and behold, now that it's December and the tree is up- its getting up to 80 degrees here in
the great state of Texas.

7. Being in the park scene. Now that Little Man can walk, it has opened up a new world of things to do/get out of the house for. We thankfully have a cute little park right up the road that we walk to about once a day. We have a sweet little family routine of going once Jeremy gets home if its still light out (one of the many reasons I hate daylight savings).

8. Jeremy surprised me with tickets to the Nutcracker! (on Nov. 30th, so I can add it). We grew up going to see the Nutcracker at the Orpheum in Memphis, so Jeremy got a babysitter, got me an ornament, and drove me all the way downtown for a "surprise date." So fun. I loved it and he was bored to death!
{Because we didn't document the evening... this will have to do}
