Our Big Announcement

I have been waiting and waiting to share what is going on in our life right now. Our big announcement. But I think if I’m honest, I didn’t (and still don't) know how to put it all into words or how to explain all the emotion and excitement (and all the little details of how it all happened) so, I’m going to keep it short and sweet…

We have been praying for a long time for God to show us where and what he had next for us. There were times we thought we’d never leave Young Life staff and times we didn’t think we could do it another day—but God held us up, blessed the work of Jeremy's hand for 8 years on staff, and has now called us to something else. Something completely different. A new adventure.

So here goes…

We are moving BACK TO TENNESSEE.
Our home state and Jeremy’s hometown.

What are we doing?

Something that I never thought we would do, but now feel like it makes so much sense. Something we really didn’t seek out or try to make happen, but truly feel is from the Lord. And something that I know is going to push us to trust Him even more.

We bought a coffee shop!

Most people hear that and think 1. we’re kidding, and 2. say, I can totally see y'all doing that. Yes, it's a little crazy and yes I didn't see this one coming, but we can honestly say that we have seen The Lord’s hand guiding us in such a way that we are CERTAIN this is where we’re supposed to be. So Yes, we are officially small business owners and will take over a local coffee shop on the town square come April.

The amount of excitement and anticipation of this GINORMOUS transition and life-change can’t help but be overshadowed by the an enormous amount of bittersweetness.

Texas will always have a special place in our hearts. I know we’ll look back and treasure that this is where our marriage grew deep roots, where we had our first 2 babies, where we had to trust the Lord in ways I can’t put into words, and where we made some of our greatest, life-long friends.

And while leaving Texas will be hard, it will be even harder to leave Young Life staff.

It was through Young Life that I met my husband. It was through Young Life that we got to be a part of the most amazing community of believers that Love Jesus and love people like nothing I’ve ever seen. We've been able to spend Summers in the mountains watching lives be changed. We have had to trust the Lord in big ways. And we've had MORE FUN and LAUGHED more than we probably ever will all because of Young Life. So while we are so excited and know its God’s timing and His hand leading us away— there are no words to express how sad it will be to leave the Young Life Family.

My prayer is that Jeremy will thrive in this new role. That we would continue to do ministry, and that we would be given lots of unique opportunities to share Jesus. That I will fall in love with small-town living. That we would find community quickly. And that God would continue to grow us and use us in ways that keep us on our knees.

Tennessee, here we come.
We’ve missed you a whole lot.
